- Follow Hygiene and Cleanliness in a gym
- Oversee the use and maintenance of Fitness equipment.
- Completed education in a 10+2 educational system with at least 50% marks
- Gym Instructor and Physical Fitness Certifications
- A Fitness trainer needs to have a good amount of experience working as an assistant trainer before starting off on their own
- A bachelor’s degree related to a health or fitness field would do wonders
- Anyone who is interested in a management level position should have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, kinesiology, or a related subject.
- A master’s degree would do good work to advance your career as Certified Fitness Trainer

1.Personal Skills
Personal skills for a Gym Instructor or a Fitness coach are a must. They must talk to their clients, motivate them into pursuing fitness and hire them as their fitness coaches or subscribe to their classes.
2. Listening Skills
A Fitness coach must be good at listening to what their clients are expecting. instructors must be able to listen carefully to what goals the clients have and how they want to pursue those goals.
3. Motivational Skills
The Fitness Trainer needs to motivate their clients to show up at the gym every day and not give up midway. Clients may feel stressed out or tired after a few days, it is the job of a Trainer to Motivate them to keep working.
4. Physical Fitness
A Certified Personal Trainer should be a physically fit person as they need to demonstrate different exercises to their clients and how to perform them safely.
5. Speaking Skills
The fitness coach needs to instruct the clients about different exercise and training programmes and their pros and cons. To get the message across as efficiently as possible they need to have good speaking skills.

Work Environment
The Largest Employer of Fitness Coaches is Fitness and recreational sports centres. Other than that, Fitness coaches can work in Civic and social organisations, educational institutes such as schools or colleges as physical education instructors, be personal trainers on a freelance or contract basis, or work for government fitness and physical health agencies.
The Workplace for a Local Personal Trainer is most of the time a Gym, a Gym that is operated by and for a specific organisation such as an office gym, or as members of civic and social organisations.
The schedule completely depends on the client’s preferences, if necessary, they have to work nights, weekends, or holidays. The Timing of a Gym is fixed and if working at a Gym, the work hours will be fixed as the opening and closing times of the gym. Some may just teach fitness over the weekends and have other jobs during the week.
Salary Package
The average salary in India for a Fitness Instructor with an experience of 4 to 10 years is around 2 lakh to 3 Lakh per year. Those with more than 10 years of experience can earn around, 4 lakh to 5 lakh per year.
However, it is to be noted that the actual earnings may be influenced depending upon the city, job profile, reputation of the employer, etc.
